Subtitle: How BankOpenSingapore funds its work and how ads interact with our content

  1. Overview We aim to keep our content free to read. Our revenue may include programmatic ads, clearly labeled sponsorships, and, occasionally, affiliate links. Editorial independence is non-negotiable: coverage and rankings are determined by our methodology, not by commercial relationships.
  2. Programmatic Advertising • Ads are served by third-party networks based on page context and/or your consented cookie settings. • We do not allow auto-playing audio, deceptive “download” buttons, or ads that obscure the main content. • Ad placements are separated from editorial content with spacing and labels such as “Advertisement.” • We limit ad density, especially on mobile. The first screen does not start with an ad. • Ad code is loaded with proper size placeholders to avoid layout shifts. • If an ad appears misleading or inappropriate, please screenshot and email so we can block the category or advertiser where possible.
  3. Sponsorships and Native Advertising • Sponsored content is labeled “Sponsored” at the top of the page and includes a funding statement explaining who paid for it and why. • Sponsored articles must still meet our sourcing and fact-checking standards; we may decline sponsorships that conflict with our editorial mission. • Sponsors do not receive control over unrelated coverage, comparison tables, or rankings. • Links in sponsored content are marked appropriately (for example, rel="sponsored" or rel="nofollow" as applicable). • Sponsored widgets or tools, if any, are labeled and separated visually from editorial modules.
  4. Affiliate Links • If we ever include affiliate links, we disclose them near the link or in a page-level notice. • A commission (if any) does not change our assessment or ranking. • Prices and terms referenced via affiliate links are “as of” the stated date; readers should verify with the provider before acting. • Affiliate relationships are periodically reviewed for compliance with our independence standards.
  5. Comparisons, Tables, and Rankings • Inclusion in our comparisons or rankings is based on editorial criteria, not payment. • We do not sell placement or “top spot” guarantees. • If a provider sponsors a separate educational article or tool, the sponsorship is disclosed on that page and does not influence tables elsewhere.
  6. Conflicts of Interest • Staff must disclose any financial relationships that could influence coverage (employment, consulting, equity). • Team members with a conflict are recused from related assignments. • We do not accept gifts or paid travel that could compromise independence.
  7. Ad Placement Standards (summary) • Desktop: modest ad units may appear below the hero area, below major sections, or in the footer area—not inside headlines or between a headline and the first paragraph. • Mobile: approximately one ad per screenful of content; none at the very top of the page. • Forms and downloads are not placed directly adjacent to ads to avoid accidental clicks. • We periodically review placements to maintain usability and Core Web Vitals performance.
  8. Data, Cookies, and Your Choices • Ad networks may use cookies or mobile identifiers to personalize ads where local law and your consent allow. • You can manage preferences via our Privacy & Cookie Policy and your browser or device settings. • We honor applicable consent frameworks; where consent is not granted, we serve contextual or non-personalized ads where supported.
  9. Complaints and Appeals If you believe an ad or sponsored message violates these standards, email with the page URL, a screenshot, and a short description. We review submissions and respond within a reasonable timeframe. For editorial accuracy concerns, use.
  10. Changes to this Policy We update this page when our funding model or labeling changes. Material changes are timestamped below and announced on our News page when relevant.
